The amazing Mino Valley Farm Sanctuary (MVFS) in Galicia, Northern Spain, is home to a wide range of rescued lab animals and farm animals, including rabbits, pigs, goats, sheep, cows, chickens, and pigeons. Their mission is to create a safe space for abused and neglected animals, where they can, “live out their lives in freedom, free from pain, suffering and the burden of expectation.”
The organization is now hoping to extend that love and compassion to fifteen baby goats who are living in terrible conditions on a small farm nearby. On their Facebook page, MVFS said, “These babies have been born into hell, separated from their mothers from birth and locked up in these tiny prisons where they can barely move. … We desperately need money to transport them from the farm to our sanctuary, provide medical care on arrival, (neuter) all the males, and feed them.”
The farm is planning to kill the goats and use their bodies to make dog food.
MVFS are determined to fight for these babies’ survival and give them the lives of peace and freedom they deserve. Their new YouCaring page, Help Save 15 Baby Goats From Slaughter, is aiming to raise enough money to provide for all of the goats’ initial transport, medical, and food costs.
Luckily, animal lovers have responded to the sanctuary’s appeal in their droves, and the campaign has exceeded its goal of €2,000 ($2,136). With just two days left, a total of €2,423 ($2,588) has been raised for the goats at the time of publication. However, any extra funds raised will go toward providing for the goats’ long-term care that will be desperately needed as the 15 babies will likely need special care as they recover.
