It has officially been one week since we launched the #EatForThePlanet campaign in honor of Earth Day and the response has been incredible! At a time when the world’s precious forests and natural resources are being recklessly plundered for the animal agriculture industry, we decided it was time to draw attention to this important issue by calling on you – our awesome Green Monsters – to show the world what it looks like to make conscious food choices for the benefit of the planet.

And we must say, eating for the planet sure looks yummy! Over 1,100 vegan food photos have been uploaded and tagged with #EatForThePlanet, by readers, non-profit organizations and  food brands alike, proving that the time to choose plant-based for the planet has never been easier or more delicious.

In fact, #EatForThePlanet has turned into much more than an Earth Day campaign, it has become a full-blown movement. There is nothing that we love more as Green Monsters than helping people make the best choice possible for themselves, the planet and animals so we’re ready to take this movement to the next level and inspire thousands of others to join!

Which is why it is so important to keep participating in this movement on TwitterInstagram and now Pinterest (every time you pin a One Green Planet recipe with #EatForThePlanet, we will repin you!).

It can be easy to feel overwhelmed by broad concepts like deforestation, species extinction and climate change, but when you recognize how much power you have to slow – and maybe even stop – these catastrophes through your food choices, suddenly you are empowered to change the world!

In spite of the amazing power that we all have to change the world one bite at a time, there are a number of organizations who have yet to participate in this movement. Over 10 animal and environmental organizations have joined #EatForThePlanet in support (you can check out these rockstars on the #EatForThePlanet page), but many prominent global environmental and animal organizations surprisingly continue to stay silent on the issue of animal agriculture and the climate crisis. We believe the facts are beyond denying so it is time to end the silence and start talking about solutions.
