Meet Mikey! The poor piglet was attacked by a dog and was not doing well when Arthur’s Acres Sanctuary found him. Despite the vet visits and steep bills that would be required, the sanctuary just could not give up on him and let him be euthanized.

After undergoing brain surgery, it was finally time for Mikey to go see his new home. It will be a long road to recovery, but there is no better place for him to heal than at a loving sanctuary surrounded by compassionate people all rooting for him.
“He sleeps in bed with me every night because I felt like he never got that nurturing from his mother. And he needed to heal and feel the nurturing, he needed to fight for his life,” said Arthur’s Acres Sanctuary. Despite the neurological challenges that Mikey faced throughout his recovery, he didn’t let that slow him down. He loves running around his backyard, playing in the grass, and enjoying watermelon, his favorite snack.
Arthur’s Acres Sanctuary is a 501(c)3 non-profit animal sanctuary creating a safe place for farmed animals to live the rest of their natural lives. You can support Arthur’s Acres by showing your love through a donation.
Most of the pigs raised in the U.S. are on factory farms where they are confined and will never get to play, be clean, cuddle with each other, or be picky eaters. Even in the best conditions of the friendliest farm, pigs raised for food will be killed and not allowed to live to their natural lifespan with their families in peace. If only everyone knew how wonderful pigs are and believed that they deserve to live like this sanctuary.
