Chimpanzee Sanctuary Northwest is home to seven chimps who have all been rescued from sad lives in entertainment or biomedical testing. On the 26-acre farm in the Washington mountains, the chimps enjoy a rich social life and each day is filled with new adventures – one of the latest being a snow day!
There’s something about the first big snow of winter that brings out the little kid in all of us, and that even applies to fun-loving chimps! Just check them out enjoying the fresh powder in their home!
Annie gingerly walks through the winter wonderland.
Foxie makes herself a snowball – we wonder who the lucky recipient will be!
Annie is a little more unconventional with carrying her snowball along.
Can you see the determination? Someone looks ready for a snowball fight!
Stalking out his teammates.
Perhaps they’re plotting a secret snowball attack.
And just like humans, some of the chimps preferred to stay inside and cuddle under a blanket. Pass the hot cocoa, please!
It’s amazing that after all these chimps went through, they still have happiness in their hearts! That’s something we can all admire. To learn more about this awesome sanctuary, check out this post.
