A baby great white shark that got caught by a fishing hook near Venice Beach pier was helped by a man who goes by the name “Willy.”
Lifeguards in the area call the man “Animal Whisperer.” The video clip shows Willy working hard to get the hook out of the injured sharks mouth. An eyewitness told CBS news, “He didn’t say a word to anybody; he just started digging to get the hook out of the shark’s mouth. I don’t know how he didn’t get bit, quite frankly. You could see the rows of teeth.”
Willy and several surfers then dragged the shark back into the ocean and Willy left the scene as quickly as he arrived.
