When Itty Bitty was brought to Katz 4 Keeps, one of her front legs was severely injured. Since her amputation, Itty Bitty has not missed a step. It was the little kitten’s spirit and unwillingness to be hindered by her amputation that made her the perfect pet for Gentilotti, a fellow amputee.
Gentilotti also had one of his legs amputated after a traumatic injury. Rather than be discouraged by his injury, Gentilotti works with Camp No Limits, a camp for amputee children, and has been able to resume all the outdoor activities he loves with the help of a prosthetic leg.
The incredible resilience shown by both Brian and Itty Bitty make them an unstoppable duo. As Gentilotti says, “You can do anything. Don’t sit at home and feel sorry for yourself because you have a limb missing…There are a lot of amputees missing all four limbs and what they can do is amazing.”
Watching Itty Bitty bound after feather cat toys illustrates just that. “She’s not limited,” Gentilotti says, and it is clear that when together there are no limits this pair can’t overcome.
