Health experts are calling for research to be done on the benefits of a plant-based diet for migraine prevention after a patient had great success after switching his diet.

The patient had suffered from debilitating headaches for more than a decade, but found relief after switching to a plant-based diet.

His migraines were so bad that he almost couldn’t even work, despite trying many other forms of migraine prevention. This included medication, yoga, and eliminating trigger foods. Within a month of eating a plant-based diet, the man noticed his headaches disappearing. His diet focused mainly on an assortment of dark and leafy greens.

The patient said, “Before I changed my diet, I was suffering six to eight debilitating migraines a month, each lasting up to 72 hours. Most days, I was either having a migraine or recovering from one. I was desperate. However, within one month of beginning a nutrient-dense plant-based diet that included primarily lots of dark-green leafy vegetables, fruits, beans, oatmeal, and a daily green smoothie, I was able to get off both medications.”

The patient has reportedly not had a single migraine or headache for over 7 years, which he says is due to his nutrient-dense plant-based diet.

This is an amazing success story that showcases the power of a plant-based diet. Meat and dairy are often considered to be migraine triggers in most migraine sufferers, making a plant-based diet an obvious alternative treatment.
