Cosmetic products are meant to enhance one’s beauty, keep one’s skin healthy, and/or create art. However, cosmetics are sometimes unhealthy because of the ingredients used, and many are actually cruelly made because they involve animal testing. Testing on animals is not necessary. As Cruelty Free International explains: “Rabbits, guinea pigs, mice and rats are routinely injected gassed, force-fed and killed for cosmetics testing around the world.” That’s why they aim to end animal testing.

One company that they have been able to work with is household name, CoverGirl. It’s a widely respected and used line because of its accessibility. After partnering with Cruelty Free International, they became leaping bunny certified cruelty free at the end of 2018. Now they’ve launched a line of products that are vegan and made with “clean” ingredients, called Clean Fresh.

The line includes a cooling glow stick, a cream blush, skin milk foundation, and tinted lip oil. All the products are formulated without talc, parabens, formaldehyde, phthalates, mineral oil, or sulfates.

This new line makes clean, vegan, cruelty-free beauty accessible to more people. Hopefully, CoverGirl will launch more of these products, maybe even transition all their products to be this natural. As a leading cosmetics company, competitors will be sure to follow!
