You can even share them with your friends and acquaintances to increase your impact.

Through petitions, we can reach those in power and demand justice for others. They are valuable tools for making positive changes in the world. If you are looking for a way to help animals and humans, here are 10 petitions you should sign this week, including

We want to thank you for being the change you wish to see in the world and giving a voice to the voiceless.

1. Shut Down Marineland Before Any More Whales Die

Source: Last Chance for Animals/Youtube

We already know that captivity is detrimental to whales, however, leadership at Marineland in Canada has not responded to protest. Over the past two years, more than fifteen beluga whales have died at the park’s facilities, and Marineland has not put a statement or addressed the horrible incidents in any way. In 2019, Marineland documents show that 54 beluga whales lived at the park in Ontario. As of September 25, 2021, only 39 or 40 belugas are still there. If this is true, it means that around four to five whales are dying in captivity each year for the past two years. Beluga whales are vulnerable to many stressors and threats, especially human disturbance, and captivity. It has become clear that Marineland is a death sentence for the endangered species. Sign this petition to demand the Canadian government shut Marineland down now before any more whales die!

2. Prosecute Woman Who Flung a Cat Off a Cliff

Two animal abusers in Granada, Spain recently filmed a horrific video and posted it on the internet. In. the video, a woman heartlessly dangles a defenseless cat on the side of a cliff. On the third swing, the woman launches the cat high into the air, and the camera follows it so you can see just how far down the cat is about to fall. After the cat falls tens of feet below, the video shows the sick woman laughing, smiling, and dancing as if what she did was a joke. Thankfully the cat survived the fall but was severely traumatized and injured. Surprisingly, local Granada police have ruled out filing charges against the young woman in the video. Sign this petition if you think these two should be charged with animal cruelty, and at the very least be mandated to get the help they need so that this doesn’t happen again!

3. Pass This Life-Saving Bill in Maryland to Protect Animals

Source: Animals Planet/Youtube

A proposed bill in Maryland would legitimately protect animals by giving courts the ability to place lifetime animal ownership bans on whom they see fit and greatly reduce negligence. One incident, in particular, acted as a catalyst for this bill. A woman was found with 66 neglected dogs in horrible conditions. All 66 dogs had some physical injuries and sadly three of them had to be euthanized. Animal abusers such as this woman should not be allowed to own animals again. Senate Bill 672  would amp up penalties for people who neglect or abuse animals and could save countless animals from death and suffering. Currently, the maximum penalty in Maryland is three months behind bars and a $1,000 fine. The bill would increase that to three years in prison and a fine of $5,000. Sign this petition to demand Maryland’s Senate pass this amazing bill to protect animals.

4. Ban Horse Carriage Rides in Savannah and New Orleans

Although many cities like Chicago, Las Vegas, and Salt Lake City have thankfully banned the cruel tradition of horse-drawn carriage rides, some cities are still putting horses in danger. Poor horses in Savannah and New Orleans are forced to pull up to 8 grown adults in the scorching southern heat. Not only does the heat put the horses at risk for dehydration and exhaustion, but the loud and densely populated cities are extremely overwhelming and stressful for the poor animals. Sign this petition to demand that these cities ban horse carriage rides, and have mercy on these poor animals!

6. Tell Congress Not to Bail Out Jeff Bezos’ Space Program!

Source: Senator Bernie Sanders/Youtube

Congress is considering bailing out Blue Origin, Jeff Bezo’s space company, to the tune of $10 billion for a contract to build a lunar lander. The Space Act allows private companies full ownership of any discovered resources in space with zero benefits to the taxpayers who helped them get there. “Scientific achievements we make should be shared by all of us, not just the wealthy few,” said Bernie Sanders. At an unbelievable two feet long, Florida horse conches are one of the world’s largest invertebrates. 9. Make It Illegal to Hunt and Kill Mountain Lions!

Source: The Humane Society of the United States/Youtube

Just last year, the Montana Governor illegally killed a wolf in Yellowstone National Park. A few months later, Gianforte shot a mountain lion that hounds had chased into a tree. Since it is obvious that the Montana Governor does not value the lives of these precious creatures, we must put pressure on the Montana Fish and Wildlife Commission to protect the state’s vital species. There is no ethical reason that civilians should be able to simply track, hunt, and kill mountain lions for sport. Sign this petition to demand that the Montana Fish and Wildlife Commission make it illegal to hunt and kill mountain lions!

10. Pass The Affordable Insulin Now Act

Source: 11Alive/Youtube

Over 35 million Americans live with diabetes, and yet price-gouging has made their life-saving daily drug unaffordable. However, The Affordable Insulin Now Ac would cap the cost of insulin at $35 for consumers. This bill is a crucial step in ensuring that everyone has access to the medical care they need, especially considering that nearly one in ten Americans live with diabetes and are dependent on insulin to survive. Sign this petition to put pressure on Republicans to demonstrate that they care about human life and vote yes on this life-saving bill.Petition Button Resized
