2. Walmart, Costco, Target, McDonalds and More! Companies Linked to Promoting Amazon Deforestation

Fires in the Amazon made global headlines for weeks. Alongside the criticism of the Brazilian government for encouraging anti-environmental stances, new information is now available on business and companies‘ impact on the fires in the Amazon. 3. Investigation Reveals Horrific Treatment of Monkeys, Dogs, and Cats in European Research Laboratory

A recent investigation by Cruelty Free International and SOKO Tierschutz revealed horrific cruelty at the Laboratory of Pharmacology and Toxicology (LPT) in Lower Saxony, Germany. What was found is truly horrific and heartbreaking. Monkeys, dogs, and cats were all found in incredibly stressful and painful situations. Read more about what the investigation revealed.

4. Did the Trump Administration Just Sue California for Trying to Reduce Carbon Pollution?!

The United States Justice Department has filed suit against the State of California. The state entered into a cap and trade agreement with Quebec, a partnership the Department of Justice (DOJ) calls “unlawful” because it allegedly interferes with foreign policy. The cap and trade agreement with Quebec is a move by the state to reduce its carbon Pollution. Read more about the lawsuit.

5. Mysterious Death of Hundreds of Lobsters Linked to Climate change

In September 2019, lobsterman in Cape Cod Bay caught something unexpected. All of the lobsters in traps they had pulled up were dead. The lobsterman called the Massachusetts Lobstermen’s Association to investigate and they found extremely low levels of oxygen in the areas where dead animals had been reported. 6. Petition: Ban Poisons Killing Mountain Lions

Mountain lions in the United States are very unfortunate. Human activities often put them in danger or directly target and kill them. They are victims of poaching and trophy hunting in states like Idaho, Montana, Colorado, Utah, and Arizona. South Dakota even recently voted to allow trophy hunters to kill 30 percent of their mountain lions. 7. Video Exposes the Horrifying Reality of Wild Horses in America

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has long been having “roundups” in which they use helicopters to frighten horses and round them up. The wild horses are absolutely terrified and confused as the video shows. Foals are separated from their mothers and many horses suffer injuries. These roundups take place so that corporations can exploit the public land that wild horses should have a right to. Read more and watch the video.

8. Coca-Cola, Nestlé, and PepsiCo are the Top 3 Plastic Polluters on the Planet

An annual global audit from the Break Free From Plastic movement has found the largest sources of plastic Pollution. Coca-Cola, Nestlé, and PepsiCo are the top three most identified companies as sources of plastic Pollution around the globe. Only 9% of plastic produced since 1950 has been recycled. 9. Petition: Ban Gun Ownership for Animal Abusers!

There is a strong correlation between cruelty to animals and violence against humans. Victims of domestic violenceoften report that their animals were also threatened or abused. In homes where there is child abuse, pet abuse is also often found. Studies have also found that almost 50 percent of perpetrators of school shootings between 1988 and 2012 had histories of committing animal cruelty. 10. Petition: Protect Critically Endangered Hawksbill Turtles From Poaching!

Hawksbill turtles are one of the many sea turtles that are critically endangered. Their extinction would affect marine ecosystems as they are a fundamental link that help maintain the health of coral reefs and sea grass beds.
