The Rancher Advocacy Program (RAP) Summit was created to bring together thought-leaders from business, science, government, and medicine, according to the Sanctuary. The program encourages leaders to share scalable and scientifically-backed solutions.

Attendees will hear a discussion about how the next generation of farmers can move away from animal-based business models and use their land for many other sustainable crops.

The event will also have an appearance from farmers Jennifer and Rodney Barrett, whose poultry farm is currently being transitioned to a state-of-the-art mushroom growing operation by the RAP team.

The event will be hosted by Renee King-Sonnen, founder of Rowdy Girl Sanctuary and RAP, and co-hosted by Jane Velez-Mitchell, founder of UnchainedTV. There will also be a preview of the feature-length documentary film, Rowdy Girl, directed by Jason Goldman, and executive produced by Moby.

Working with ranchers and farmers is a wonderful way of going straight to the source and teaching them about compassionate and alternative business choices.

As outsiders, we understand that these industries are cruel, but it’s important to understand that this is how people make their money, feed their families, and keep a roof over their heads. It’s not as simple or as easy as it seems, but this new program will help ranchers and farmers understand why and how they should make the change!

This year will be the 4th annual summit, and it will all be virtual. The event is Saturday, July 30th @ 10 AM PDT and costs $25 or $15 for students of all levels. Check out RAP for more information and to register for this amazing event!
