Angad Daryani is an Indian inventor that has found a way to turn India’s air pollution into floor tiles.

India is home to 22 of the world’s most polluted cities, causing more than one million deaths every year. The smog-filled air cloaking India’s cities often contains dangerously high levels of fine particulate matter, known as PM2.5.

Last year, the amount of PM2.5 particles in New Delhi was 14 times greater than the safe limit outlined by the World Health Organization. This can lead to a number of serious and life-threatening health issues.

Fortunately, there are some amazing people fighting back against this Pollution. Angad Daryani invented an air purifier that captured particles from the air and trapped them in a container. The captured pollutant powder is then transferred to a company that makes specialty floor tiles from it.

Now, Daryani is working to make these purifiers on a larger scale so that they can be used outdoors to capture Pollution from the air. The biggest hurdle that Daryani has faced is financing his endeavors as the most polluted cities cannot afford many solutions. However, that hasn’t stopped Daryani. He is currently working to gain investments so that he can continue his work, with the goal of putting outdoor air purifiers all over India’s most polluted cities.

Daryani explained the purpose of his hard work: “Future generations need to feel like they have a future.”
