Pearl Jam has a special guest in their music video for their song “Retrograde.” Climate activist Greta Thunberg stars in the band’s latest, from their recent album titled Gigaton. A now world-famous teenager, Thunberg is known for speaking in front of the United Nations and for her “School Strike 4 Climate” initiative.
The video has a dire warning about Climate change and future possibilities with higher seas and hotter temperatures. The animated video takes viewers to a visit to a fortune teller’s shop. The fortune teller sees a series of climate-change-related events and disasters, including bushfires and rising seas. The video is reminiscent of the fires that swept Australia over the summer. Thunberg plays the fortune teller in the video and the band appears as themselves in a series of tarot cards. The video premiered on May 14 and has over half a million views!
