Singer, Will Young joined other protesters at MBR Acres, handcuffing himself to the Cambridgeshire dog breeding facility to protest the breeding of dogs for lab experiments.

Young said, “People are unaware there is still animal testing in this country, and it is not needed.”

Protesters are demanding that the facility release the dogs that live there and end their dog laboratory experiments.   Police later broke up the protest and asked that they allow staff to enter the building. Later, MBR Acres went to court to ensure that no more protesting could be done on their property.

MBR Acres claimed “Our business will continue to manage and run its operations in full compliance with Home Office regulations and with our normal high welfare standards. We remain proud of what we do every day because our work allows the progress of medicine to save millions of human and animal lives.”

Young is not the only celebrity that has spoken out against MBR. In the past, actors Ricky Gervais and Peter Egan also called for the end of dog breeding at the MBR Acres facility.

MBR is just one of the many facilities that breed puppies to go through horrific testing. Hopefully, with enough protesting and awareness, these kinds of facilities will shut down permanently. Animal testing is not only cruel and inhumane, but also unnecessary due to all of the modern alternatives that exist. It’s time to end the exploitative breeding and use of animals for cruel tests. Sign this petition to end forced taxpayer funding for painful animal experiments.
