Sometimes people do things that are so unimaginably cruel it makes you want to lose faith in all humanity. Seeing the terrible way that humans can treat other living beings, like animals it make you want to resign from the species all together; go straight off the grid and spend the rest of your days living in the trees trying to forget your former compatriots.
While this does sound nice…of course, as an animal lover, you know that when you are witness to animal cruelty you can’t run and hide, you have to act and show the world that not ALL humans are terrible. In fact, there are tons of pretty awesome compassionate people walking around these days.
An example of some of these amazing people are the wonderful caretakers who helped nurse Patrick, the Pit Bull back to health.
Seeing Patrick now, you would never recognize him as the dog who was once found wrapped in a trash bag…

Emaciated to the point where you could count his ribs, Patrick’s journey would be a long one.

Luckily, he was in the right place and would receive all the care he needs.
Poor little guy didn’t feel too hot for the first few days…

But with some TLC he started to perk up a bit.
Some kind humans made sure he always had a warm sweater and something soft to snuggle with.
He even got a bouquet of Get Well flowers!
Everyday he got a little stronger…and seemingly gained a new fuzzy toy.
He received daily kisses as part of his recovery regimen.
And of course a whole boat-load of balloons to celebrate his progress!
Having FINALLY learned what it means to enjoy life, Patrick became the designated King of Holidays.

Since he was a particularly lucky dog, St. Patrick’s Day naturally became one of his favorites.

But really now that he is well, and in the care of a wonderful loving guardian, everyday is as much fun as a holiday for Patrick!

I have two dogs which were dropped off. One is a red nose pit bull and the other is a black puggle. Both were showing bones and the pit bull had a broken leg. I have had him 11 years now and he is the sweetest dog. The puggle I have had 2 years. They are both precious and everyone who comes in contact with them love them. I am so glad this dog got a chance to live. People don\’t know what they miss until they get to save the life of a distressed animal.
Wonderful story, I wish you all the best! My next dog will probably be a rescue pit too!
This is the kind of story that makes one think how horrible some people can be, and how wonderful others can be. I wish the world was full of people that cared for Patrick. Every animal deserves a happy ending!!
I am so happy to read Patrick\’s success story! Thanks for sharing.
Who ever saved him you all are true angels, I have 3 pits and cherrish all of them,,,,, who ever caused the pain of him id like to spend 5 minutes causing them pain,,,,,,,,
