A homeless dog in India was found laying on the side of the road, wounded and dying. The dog’s head was being eaten away by maggots and he was completely unable to even stand. Thankfully, Animal Aid Unlimited, a rescue organization and shelter based in India that is known for going above and beyond to help animals in need, set out to help this poor dog.
When they arrived at the site of the rescue, they gently patted his back and then wrapped the dog in a blanket before heading back to the Animal Aid Unlimited clinic.
Once at the clinic, the rescue team applied medicine to kill the maggots on the dog’s ear. Although the process of cleaning the wound was tedious, by day three, the dog was stronger and treatment for his mange could start. After a few months, the pup was completely transformed. He is now named Major Sahib – and you won’t believe what he looks like!
Sadly, millions of homeless animals roam the streets of India. But luckily, Animal Aid Unlimited rescues 15-25 sick animals every day – a feat that is made possible with the help of their rescue hotline and the swift action of locals who call them. We are incredibly thankful for all of the work Animal Aid Unlimited does to help homeless animals in India.
