Hope For Paws received a call about a homeless chow in central California, so JoAnn Wiltz drove almost 300 miles to get to the rescue location.

Claudia Briseno fed the abandoned dog named Whiskey for a few months but was never able to touch him because he was fenced in. Hope For Paws later discovered that Whiskey’s owners had passed away and never made plans for him. With a lot of patience, they finally got Whiskey to enter the humane crate. Wiltz then drove four hours back home to the rescue to give him a full spa treatment and get to work finding him a permanent home!

The rescue stresses the importance of making plans for your pets if you think there’s a chance you won’t be able to care for them any longer. The rescue also found a free and fast way to write a legally valid will for your pets to ensure their safety in the future, and to help prevent a situation where your pet ends up at the shelter.

If you would like to donate to Hope For Paws, to help them save more kittens, you can do so here. Your donations will go directly to helping them save animals in need, and you will be supporting rescue operations and medical care.
