A police officer in Amarillo, TX, and his K9 were deployed to assist other officers in apprehending a suspect accused of stealing a car on December 30, 2021, around 12:30 a.m. However, the situation escalated and took a turn for the worse when the poor K9 was savagely kicked and beaten. To many people’s surprise, it was the dog’s partner who delivered a violent kick to the dog’s side.

The horrible incident was caught on tape by a bystander and the video has since gone viral, sparking outrage in Amarillo and all over the country. Many people are wondering how a police officer could be so cruel and heartless as to kick his K9 companion. The case has caused so much concern considering that K9s live with their handlers and their families and the poor dog’s safety is compromised. The Amarillo PD (APD) announced that the cop has been separated from his dog, and they have kenneled him with the K9 Unit supervisor. However, the cop continues to be on the force.
