Adopting animals isn’t just to help animals. Most of the time, people feel like the animal has saved their life instead. That’s because pets bring such joy to our lives and form bonds with us that are unbreakable. Just as Scott Perry! In 2015, he and his then-girlfriend adopted a cat from Best Friends Animal Society Los Angeles. The cat, Olivia, was always hiding but when his girlfriend moved out, she came out of her shell and has spent all her time right by his side!
He told People that during quarantine, their bond has only gotten stronger. He’s so grateful to have her in his life that he wants to do something amazing to raise money for Best Friends Animal Society Los Angeles who brought them together.
Therefore, he decided to “propose” to Olivia. She meowed and he took it as a “yes.” They will be getting “married” on Saturday, May 23rd on Instagram Live.

Perry and Olivia even have a registry on Zola. It sounds insane, but here’s the amazing thing: the registry is for people to leave them a message and a donation for the shelter. They hope to raise $5,000 for the shelter.
Maybe you want to donate to the shelter that introduced you to your best friend or another that is struggling during the pandemic (all shelters have encountered financial hardship during this time). Either way, you can sign this petition to pledge to help an animal shelter by fostering, adopting, or donating!
