Kimiko was brought to the Arizona Humane Society in need of serious care. She was anemic, emaciated, hypothermic, and wasn’t responding. Veterinarians were extremely concerned for her well-being. They turned to help from another dog in the shelter.
Jasmine was being treated for a broken leg and therefore was a great candidate to help Kimiko! Kimiko’s energy has been revived since the transfusion and she can now wag her tail and roll over. Before the help, she was barely able to walk or stand. The shelter shared on Facebook, “She has Jasmine and the veterinary team to thank for her new lease on life. She may be a little Yorkie, but Kimiko has now got Labrador blood flowing in her veins!”

According to the post, “Both pups are still receiving ongoing care in AHS Foster Hero homes where they will continue healing in a loving and caring environment for a little over a month for Kimiko and approximately six weeks for Jasmine while her leg mends. ”
