A Florida police officer is being hailed as a hero after he rescued a dog from a fire. The Palm Coast Observer reported the story.
Flagler County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) rushed to a local home that had caught fire while the family was out shopping. Deputy Jeckovich attended to the scene and noticed a dog inside the burning home.
A Facebook post shared by FCSO said that Deputy Jeckovich broke the front door to let the dog out safely during the fire.
“While the dog was a little shaken up, there were no serious injuries,” FCSO said. “The homeowners were not home at the time of the fire but were relieved to be reunited with their pet when they arrived on the scene. The men and women of the FCSO believe it is an honor to serve and protect every member of this community, even our four-legged ones.”
