ESD No. 2 said the cause of the fire is being investigated by the Fire Marshal.
“We are happy to report there were no casualties from the fire that took place at the Churchill Crossing Apartments last night,” Nick Perkins, Fire Chief for ESD. Perkins said the department has created a risk reduction plan, which will make sure that all the smoke and CO2 alarms in the district homes that are over ten years old are still working. Luckily, the man who was rescued was woken up by his fire alarm and ultimately saved his and his dog’s life!
