Much of the world may be on lockdown, but there are still brave people saving lives. There are, of course, essential workers and healthcare heroes who are keeping the world going and treating humans. They deserve all the respect and admiration in the world, but there are also those who are continuing difficult work that cannot be put on pause like animal rescue.

The Scottish SPCA has been as busy as ever saving animals during the pandemic. Just recently, they saved a baby fox from drowning after she fell down a hole and they also rescued a baby sheep stuck on a cliff. Now, we’re sharing another amazing rescue done by the Scottish SPCA.

Someone saw a dog in distress at the park and alerted the Scottish SPCA. They responded and found a Staffordshire terrier shaking and scared. He had been tied to a bench and abandoned there.

The dog was microchipped and they found that he is five years old and is named Rocky. Poor Rocky had a chronic skin condition that was clearly left untreated for too long. Thankfully, he is in good hands now and they are taking care of him. They’ve discovered that he loves playing with a ball and enjoys being the center of attention. If anyone has any information, they can contact their confidential animal helpline.

You can also donate to the Scottish SPCA to help them continue the amazing work of rescuing and saving animals, especially during these economically hard times.

All animal shelters and rescue organizations could really use our help more than ever. Sign this petition to pledge to help an animal shelter by fostering, adopting, or donating!
