A few young adults are going to be in serious trouble after trying to go viral by putting a dog in the driver’s seat of a Tesla Model X on autopilot.
The video shows the Tesla whizzing by with only a dog sitting in the driver’s seat. No one else can be seen in any part of the car. Despite the name of the feature, autopilot is meant only to help the driver, not completely take over, making this stunt extremely dangerous.
Some suspect that Blake Messick, a TikToker, is behind the stunt, as he filmed the incident. He insisted that he was not behind the incident, but some believe that it seemed far too staged and convenient for him to be there to be an accident.
If found, the people involved could now face serious traffic violations as well as animal abuse charges as the stunt endangered everyone on the road, including the dog.
This is one of the thousands of dangerous, irresponsible, and childish tricks to be pulled for social media fame. Unfortunately, this time, an innocent dog was trapped in the stunt and could have been seriously harmed.
