The life of a factory farm chicken is anything but warm and cuddly. Arguably the world’s most abused animals, chickens are slaughtered by the billions to meet consumer demands in the United States. After birth, baby chicks are immediately separated from their parents and carted off to sheds that house thousands of other chicks. Most chickens only live for six or seven weeks before they are brought to slaughter and male chicks of egg-laying breeds are killed at birth.

While the life of a factory farm chicken is enough to break your heart, that doesn’t mean that all chickens born on this planet are forced to suffer such fates. These videos illustrate just how adorable and animated these little birds can be when they are given a good home and a happy life.
