Black bears are pretty incredible animals. Seeing one in its natural habitat is definitely an experience that most people would love to have. In fact, a few women in Mexico got that experience; however, the encounter may have been a little too close for comfort…

Recently, in San Pedro Garza García, Mexico, a black bear approached a few girls that were hiking near Chipinque Ecological Park. The curious bear did not merely stop by for sniff, it jumped up on one of the young woman’s shoulders long enough for her to take a selfie with the creature.

Only a few days later, the bear approached another woman, sniffed her leg, and seemingly attempted to play. It even followed her as she tried to calmly walk away! Luckily, there were no injuries in both cases.

This bear seriously seems to want someone to play with! Doesn’t it remind you of your dog who can never get enough attention? In all seriousness, it’s best to try to avoid bears as much as possible. Fortunately, most bears have the same attitude about humans. However, some bears may associate human areas with food, especially considering habitat destruction. Experts recommend that if you come in contact with a bear, you stay calm, make yourself as big as possible, identify yourself as a human by waving your arms slowly and talking in low tones, and leave the area slowly while making eye contact. While this selfie is really cool, actively trying to get one can be extremely dangerous and even deadly. Be careful out there folks!
