Theodora is a brand new pup! The Arizona Humane Society (AHS) gave the dog a makeover after she was abandoned in her crate.

AHS shared that the 5-year-old Shih Tzu’s owner had abandoned her in a crate in February. She arrived at the shelter with matted fur, overgrown nails, and dental issues. Thanks to loving care from the shelter, Theodora’s a whole new dog!

AHS gave the pup a bubble bath, cleaned up her fur with a trim, and gave her a cute sweater to keep her warm. Theodora also received dental work to make sure her mouth stays healthy!

The shelter shared that Theodora has been adopted! “Theodora’s start at AHS was a sad one, and is an important reminder that no pet owner should ever have to resort to abandoning their pet. Any pet owner in need of help with their pets is encouraged to reach out to AHS’ Pet Resource Center (PRC), a group of dedicated individuals who provide resources and support to Valley pet owners. Last year, the PRC team fielded more than 81,000 calls and helped keep almost 6,000 pets out of the shelter and in their homes!” the shelter shared in an Instagram post.
