Insider reported that Patron is a member of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. He is working in the northern Ukraine city, Chernihiv, where he has become quite popular amongst the pyrotechnicians.

Pictures and videos of Patron, whose name means “Ammo” in Ukrainian, have gone viral of the pup in a military protective vest searching through dirt and rocks for unexploded bombs.

Jack Russell Terriers are a common breed to use for things like this as they are great sniffers. They are small and can fit into small spaces to find hidden bombs.

The adorable pup even has an Instagram where he has over 140k followers watching his amazing rescues. Patron is part of a pyrotechnicians team that rescues but also educates about the dangers of war debris that surround neighborhoods.

Patron’s fan base has grown immensely, and many are posting art of the dog. A woman named Evelina Buyankova even got a tattoo of Patron on her arm.
