A video recently went viral of a woman who met a cat at the shelter she was working. The cat had been there for around 10-12 years at that point and had never been adopted, and had spent his life living in the enclosure.

@lindssey.82 said that the cat had been adopted twice and was returned both times and “for the majority of his life, he was locked in this cage.”

Although the staff would give him lots of love and affection, the lonely cat hated coming out, so they would leave him in his cage. When the staff would visit him, he would rub his head on their foreheads and be extremely affectionate.

“Although he rarely had human interaction, he was the most affectionate cat I had ever met,” @lindssey.82 said in the video.

Lindsey said that she wanted to adopt the cat but was not able to financially Support him but she was able to take him home with “help from the hospital.” He became more relaxed in the home and he even began to sleep on his human’s bed.

“He was so gentle even with my sister who is afraid of cats,” the poster wrote.

Now, he loves to see himself in the mirror, smell new foods, and bask in the sun.

“I imagine this was his first time feeling the warmth of the sun since he was a kitty,” the poster wrote.

One user wrote: “Thank you for saving him! All he needed was love and quality care.”

Another added: “this is another example of how love really does change them. thank you for loving him like he deserves.”
