This poor cat named Siren was found inside a hot car engine in 100° heat at Starbucks. He had his toe pads burned off and was panting terribly. San Bernadino animal rescue’s colony caretaker Brittney just so happened to work at the location and rushed over to assist. Sadly, there had been 2 kittens in the engine, but the first was hit and passed away. Siren, the miracle kitten, was in shock and suffering from heat stroke, which left him without mobility in any of his limbs. They cooled her down and tried to give her fluids on the way to the vet.

“We got him to the vet immediately and he was already going into shock. Luckily he was able to be stabilized but we have a long way to go for a full recovery,” said the rescue in an update video.
His temperature was able to be regulated, and he was rehydrated through IV fluids. Although it’s clear that he has neurological issues and a long recovery ahead, right now, he is happy as can be and has an appetite, which is always great news.

“We have been working with little Siren on his leg strength since bringing him home from the vet. We have been helping to stretch them out and keep them limber while also rubbing and massaging them to help with blood flow,” the rescue added.
Since his miraculous rescue, Siren has been making amazing progress. Three of his legs have already started to gain more strength, and he was able to take his first few steps recently! Although his front left leg is still immobile, and he has a challenging time getting himself into a standing position without assistance, his rescuers are still so proud of the progress he’s made so far.
