A large bear was seen wandering around backyards in the Los Angeles area with an arrow sticking out of the animal’s body. Although residents in the city of Arcadia in Los Angeles County are used to seeing bears occasionally, this poor, injured bear was different.

Ernie Camacho, a resident of the area told CBS Los Angeles that it was hard to see and hear.
“When we saw the bear initially laying on the front lawn, it was probably 25-30 feet from us and he was helpless. He laid on his side, he perched his head up to look at us and, almost as though asking for help, he lifted his paw up, which was the most heart-wrenching thing,” Camacho said. “The arrow was probably, well I couldn’t tell how large the arrow was but it (had) penetrated.”
After a while, the bear got up and moved to another yard a few blocks away. The poor bear was visibly in pain.
“The bear was obviously in pain and in fact when we lost him in the brush, we could hear him moan, which was very sad,” Camacho said.
Although it is not clear his this happened, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife told CBS Los Angeles that there is a local bow hunting area nearby where the bear was probably shot at. The hunting area is permitted through the Shared Habitat Alliance for Recreational Enhancement (SHARE) program.
This is devastating. A spokesperson for the Department of Fish and Wildlife also told CBS Los Angeles that the department would respond but only if the bear is a threat to people or pets. It’s heartbreaking that this bear will have to live in pain with an arrow stuck and without any help.

This SHARE program is a joke. Just a bunch. of fancy words to try to mask killing animals for fun. Get rid of it!
The laws and rules need to be changed. Humans are the animals. This bear was just trying to survive and they aren’t worried about the fact that it was shot and probably dying in pain. They are worried about it hurting someone. They need to find the bear and help it. I still cant believe how people can give someone the okay to go kill any animal. They were put on this earth just like we were.
It’s humans which are threat to all life on Earth. Bear, legally shot? That tells you the truth from the bear’s point of view. .
