A viral video shared on TikTok shows the shocking moment a curious raccoon appeared from the ceiling in this family’s home. At first, all you see are his tiny arms. He then pokes his head out to say hello.
“It turns out this guy managed to get himself stuck up there,” said the Finch family.

They immediately called animal control to help get him unstuck. They had no idea how long he had been stuck up there and were not sure if he was malnourished or injured.
“We suspect he has been up there for at least a day. We didn’t want the poor guy to suffer while we wait.”
They fed him cheese cubes while waiting for help to arrive, and he happily accepted the snack.

The family later discovered that the raccoon had made himself at home by entering through an opening in their deck. They also had water damage leaking from the bathroom, which allowed this little guy to get cozy in the ceiling.
In an update video, they reassured everyone that wildlife rescue came and put up a barrier by the deck to ensure that no other animals accidentally find themselves in the same situation. They also patched up the hole, which would encourage the raccoon to leave the way he originally came in.

Though this raccoon appears to be sweet and innocent, they should never be kept as pets. In some states, it’s even considered to be illegal to keep them in your home. As the critters grow older, they can become destructive and even aggressive. They may be cute, but please keep little Busters out of your home, and let wild animals be wild!
