Spicy Lentil Rice Burgers [Vegan]



Cooking Time



For the Patties:

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3/4 cup brown rice, cooked
  • 3/4 cup red lentils, cooked
  • 1/2 cup panko bread
  • 1/2 cup sunflower seed kernels
  • 1/2 red onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 2 teaspoons red chili pepper flakes
  • Salt, to taste

For Garnish:



  1. Pulse all the ingredients in the food processor a few times until more or less uniformly mixed. Don't overdo it though, leave some texture.
  2. Taste and adjust the salt.
  3. Shape into patties and cook both sides in a pan until a golden-brown crust develops.
