Why should you make oat flour? 1 cup of oats has about 10 grams of protein and 8 grams of fiber. By adding oat flour to some of your favorite recipes you can boost its nutritional value.

How to Make Oat Flour

This Recipe is :

Dairy Free Vegan

Ingredients

  • Old-fashioned rolled oats

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
  2. Spread oats evenly onto a large baking sheet.
  3. Bake for approximately 20 minutes.
  4. Add baked oats to a food processor. Grind into a flour consistency.
  5. Allow to cool completely before storing in an airtight container.

Notes

Baking with oat flour may require a little bit of experimenting, but that’s the fun part. As a starting point try substituting 1/3 of the flour in a recipe with oat flour.

I've made oat flour in my blender to make muffins before. Very easy.

I just put it in my blender. Gets it fine enough for gnocchi and banana bread.

Why further process them by baking? It adds bitterness, reduces nutrition and flavour is time and labor intensive. Just grind as is.
