Cinnamon Okra [Vegan, Gluten-Free]

Chopped okra is fried with cinnamon in coconut oil until soft, fragrant, and flavorful. This cinnamon-spiced okra makes a great topping for burgers and sandwiches with Caribbean-inspired flavors, it's also a great addition to things like spicy curries and chilis!

Cinnamon Okra [Vegan, Gluten-Free]

This Recipe is :

  • 2 cups of fresh okra
  • 2 tablespoons coconut nectar
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon


  1. Wash the okra. Cut off the ends, chop each piece into 4-5 small round pieces, and then set aside.
  2. Heat the coconut oil in a medium frying pan over medium heat. Add the okra and cook for 3-5 minutes.
  3. Turn the heat down to low and add the coconut nectar and cinnamon. Cook for another 3-5 minutes stirring frequently. Remove from heat.
