Why You Should Replace Your Caffeine Fix with Maca

Your alarm goes off at a ridiculously early hour and you can’t wait to get that caffeine fix into your body.  How many times have you said to yourself ? “I need caffeine to function” and if you don’t have it, your body certainly lets you know. Which makes total sense.

Caffeine is a stimulant; it helps you to have less physical fatigue and increases your mental alertness – which is a benefit that helps us function.

So why would you want to give your caffeine fix up and what would you replace it with?es

Maca root, also known as Peruvian Ginseng is a powerful plant that is part of the radish family and is native to Bolivia and Peru.  Maca has been cultivated for thousands of years in Peru and continues to be used as a root vegetable and as a medicinal herb.

Since maca has a strong, powerful taste it is best when mixed in smoothies, energy bars, desserts, yogurt and it is delicious in chocolate.

This root vegetable is rich in plant sterols, contains significant amounts of minerals (iron, calcium, selenium, phosphorous, magnesium and zinc), as well as dietary fiber, amino acids (protein) and complex carbohydrates.

In addition to these benefits, the biggest reason to give up your caffeine fix is that maca gives you energy and endurance.  It reduces fatigue, balances the body to help cope with stress and it energizes the body naturally without the effects of caffeine, in other words “no crashing.”

For all you male “green monsters,” if you still aren’t convinced, maca increases stamina and strength.  It has been shown to increase libido in both men and women.

For all you female green monsters, it has been reported to increase fertility, help relieve menstrual symptoms and restores hormonal imbalances (menopause).

So gentleman, no need to fill those viagra prescriptions and ladies, you cancel your fertility appointments.

But seriously, the Inca warriors used it thousands of years ago for strength, endurance and stamina before battle and it played a key role in my recovery from Adrenal Fatigue.
