10 Healthy Smoothie Boosters

Prev Slide1 of 30Next Slide

Green smoothies are hot right now, figuratively that is. And why shouldn’t they be? They are delicious, an easy way to include a wide range of fruits and veggies in your diet, and packed with fiber, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. They are versatile, customizable, and a convenient on-the-go snack or meal.

Loading your smoothie with fruits, greens, a spoonful of nut butter, and a splash of plant-based milk ensures that you are giving yourself a myriad of nutrients. However, if you want to take your smoothie up a notch and enhance the health benefits of that tasty elixir, try adding one of these products to your blender before sipping away.

1. Hemp Seed

Hemp seeds are a powerhouse protein source that is easily digested and contains all your essential amino acids, making these seeds a beneficial addition to vegan diets.  Not only being an incredible source of biologically available protein, they also contain the perfect ratio of omega-3 to omega-6 fatty acids for the human body.  They have been found to contain the rare essential fatty acid Gamma-Linolenic Acid (GLA), which has been linked to helping with arthritis, joint mobility, eczema, hormonal balance, migraines, menopause, cholesterol and blood pressure levels, and weight management.  Hemp seeds contain an array of antioxidants, as well as important minerals such as zinc, calcium, phosphorous, magnesium and iron.  These seeds are also a great source of fiber.

Nutiva Hemp Protein
