North Londoners will soon have another choice for plant-based cuisine. What The Pitta, a vegan kebab shop, is set to open its doors in Camden on March 9.

What The Pitta already has locations in Croydon and Shoreditch, where it serves vegan döner, lamacun Turkish pizza, and couscous, among other enticing options. The restaurant’s menu is entirely plant-based, and does not contain dairy or egg products. The company also plans to add gluten-free rice bowls to its menu this year.

The shop’s vegan döner, which costs £7.95, includes soya yogurt-based tzatziki sauce along with spiced soya chunks and homemade hummus. According to What The Pitta’s website, the döner is around 800 kCal and contains a whopping 37 grams of protein. Other popular dishes include the Turkish Pizza topped with minced soya and veggies and the Couscous Salad Box that comes with homemade sauces. Don’t forget to try the vegan baklava for dessert!

“We are so proud that what started as little stall in Shoreditch has grown so quickly, and we’re now opening our third branch and continuing to provide good, tasty food with added health & environmental benefits to hungry Londoners,” said What The Pitta co-founder Cem Yildiz.

“We have found that a lot of our customers are meat reducers, rather than strict vegans, and it’s great to see more and more people becoming conscious of where their food is coming from,” added Yildiz.
