Naked, a brand owned by PepsiCo, Inc. that is known for making smoothies and juices, has announced the launch of Naked Fruit, Nut & Veggie Bars.

The new bars will have names reminiscent of the brand’s juices, including “Blue Machine,” “Red Machine, and “Green Machine.” According to Naked, the bars will be “packed with premium ingredients, including real fruits and vegetables.”


The bars, which are free of preservatives, come in a 1.41 oz package at 160 calories per bar. Each bar contains five fruits and vegetables, and are reported to be excellent sources of iron and vitamins A, C, and E.

“We have a great heritage with fruits and vegetables,” said PepsiCo North America Nutrition Fruit and Vegetable portfolio senior vice-president Becca Kerr.

“As experts in fruits and vegetables, I’m thrilled we are bringing the convenience, nutrition and taste we are known for at Naked into the chilled bars space,” added Kerr.


The bars will be “chilled,” and sold in the refrigerated section of supermarkets. According to Kerr, the bars can be out of the fridge for a day, but are “optimal” when eaten chilled.

“Since it’s not always convenient to fit fruits and vegetables into your daily routine, we’re expanding our lineup, continuing to provide consumers with yet another option to make sure they are getting their daily dose of goodness,” Kerr said.


Each of the three flavors of Naked bars will contain different fruits, vegetables and nuts. One contains almond, cranberry, and spinach; another has apples, kale, and pistachios; and the third has quinoa, carrots, and berries.

The bars, which will be available in single-serve and multipacks, will roll out nationwide at the end of February.
