About Two Degrees: Two Degrees, (sometimes referred to as “the TOMS Shoes of food”) is the first ever food company to adopt the 1-for-1 model. For Two Degrees, that means that for every bar sold, they donate a meal to a hungry child. In 2011, which was their first year with product on shelves, Two Degrees set and met the goal of selling 250,000 bars and donating 250,000 meals to children in Malawi, India, Somalia and Haiti with more countries being added this year. Additionally, Two Degrees is on target to donate their millionth meal by early fall! The company’s sole mission is to make it as easy for possible for consumers to make a positive impact on a global problem, simply by making a consumer choice.

The bars are baked with high-quality, all-natural ingredients that you can see. All Two Degrees bars feature millet, chia seeds, and quinoa flakes—heritage grains with all the essential amino acids and a significant dose of omega-3 fatty acids. All the bars are gluten free, GMO-free and vegan.

The One Green Planet Verdict: Of course we LOVE Two Degrees’ 1-for-1 model as well as the company’s overall mission. It definitely embodies the type of change we want to see in this world. But the real question was…how do they taste?

We sampled all four of Two Degrees’ flavors, including the Apple Pecan, Chocolate Peanut, Chocolate Banana, and Cherry Almond bars. There’s definitely a flavor for everyone in this lineup! Chocolate lovers will dig the Chocolate Peanut and Chocolate Banana bars. Both have an excellent flavor and texture – a nice combination of chewy and crunchy. If you prefer a fruit-flavored bar, the Apple and Cherry bars are also great options. With chunks of dried fruit and nuts, granola-lovers will enjoy these authentic flavors.

With an awesome mixture of heritage grains, between 170 and 190 calories, and a few grams of protein and fiber per serving, these bars are a convenient and healthy on-the-go snack option. Two Degrees has definitely made ancient grains great again with these delicious snack bars!

Addictive

I found these while traveling at a coffee shop on the Cornell Univ campus. I've been unable to find them locally, so I'm now ordering them online. I tried only the Cherry Almond flavor but thought it was the best granola bar I've ever eaten. Well done, Two Degrees! All that taste and a globally conscious company, too!

I tried all of the bars that were graciously sent to me. I thought all the flavors were EXCELLENT!!! :) My boyfriend also enjoyed them. We used them as snacks or meal replacements. Being that we are on Weight Watchers, and each bar is only 4 Weight Watchers points, we found that they fit our health plan wonderfully!!! Thank you for being a socially conscious company!!! :)

Good for you...Good for the World

I shared my samples with my husband and a few friends. The texture is good and easy to chew and digest. These are best for those who prefer a sweeter taste. Kudos to Two Degrees for their mission to provide meals to children.

I just received my pack and noted they are in a cute package, and are full of delicious and healthy ingredients - chia seeds are the best! I also love that they support the cause of ending world hunger - they are a company I will support in the future!

Finding vegan bars is tougher than I originally thought. Most bars have honey and I can’t eat most nuts (peanuts, walnuts, probably cashews). Hope these work well as fuel for ultramarathons.

I want to try two degrees food bars because as an endurance, vegan athlete I love to pull one out of my pocket on bike ride or long trail run and have my friends ask me, “where did you get THAT?” I am raising money to support the Vermont Food Bank on my 115 mile ride this summer so I am always looking to support companies whose mission includes feeding the hungry.
