Product Review: Malibu C Natural Wellness Treatments

Product Name: Malibu C Natural Wellness Treatments

Product Lines: Hard Water, Color, Swimmers, Scalp, and Blondes

Website: www.malibuc.com

About Malibu C Natural Wellness Treatments: Malibu C is a natural wellness company that is committed to researching, developing and manufacturing wellness products that are eco-friendly (recyclable and biodegradable) and also reduce our water footprint. Their hair, skin, and scalp products are 100% vegan, and free of parabens, DEA, gluten, and propylene glycol.

Malibu C formulas effectively remove damaging environmental impurities, specifically those found in the water we use; impurities that diminish the vitality of both hair and skin. Malibu C’s powerful vitamin complex gently removes damaging toxins and unwanted residue. As a result, hair becomes shinier and full of life, while skin appears smoother, softer and more luminous.

The Hard Water Wellness Kit (reviewed below) is designed to detox and defend hair against hard water mineral deposits. It not only improves hair’s texture and appearance, but also allows color, highlight, perm, relaxer, or conditioning treatments to penetrate more effectively. This treatment and other Malibu C products are available at salons, spas, beauty supply stores, and at malibuc.com.

The One Green Planet Verdict: We tested the Malibu C Hard Water Wellness Kit, which includes shampoo, conditioner, and four natural wellness treatments, which are recommended to be used once per week.

The shampoo has a light, fresh scent, and produces plenty of lather. It would be great for everyday use.

The wellness treatment (packet of crystals) formed a soft paste when combined with water, and there was plenty in the packet to coat long hair. After leaving the paste on for several minutes, as directed, you can definitely feel a difference as you wash it out.

But we weren’t totally convinced until after trying the conditioner. It is relatively thick and has a pleasant, sweet scent. After combing it through your hair and rinsing it out, you will be floored by how soft your hair feels! It is a pretty amazing difference, and we definitely recommend the product.

Although we didn’t sample the other wellness kits, judging from the quality of this product, our guess would be that the others are also worth a try.

9 year old daughter asks for it :)

Jan 02, 2013 by Tracie

For years we had a wonderful swim instructor who used the finest pool products and we never had damaged hair. We moved and quickly learned what people meant by green, straw like hair. Combing my daughters long blonde hair was a tearful event. Many shampoos, conditioners, pretreatments, leave-ins, you name it & we bought it. Nothing seemed to help. We happened upon a hair stylist who stocked Malibu products and she did a treatment using the Malibu Hard Water crystals. My 9 year old daughter was so happy to have incredibly soft hair again that she begged me to buy some to use at home. While we paid a premium for the treatment and packets at the salon (more economical to buy online), it was worth every penny. It was nice to see the positive review of a product that we thought highly of. I would like to try the shampoo & conditioner as mentioned in the review and see what my daughter thinks of using the entire system. Thanks for reviewing this product and thanks to Malibu for creating an amazing product!

What I needed

May 15, 2012 by Amy

Here's a brief history of my hair damage : swimmer, went from dark brown (natural hair colour) to bleach blonde, more swimming, went back to brown, sun exposure, missed the blonde so went back, swim and sun and now trying to go back natural. You can say my hair has been through a lot in the past 5 years.
Just after 2 or 3 shampoos and conditioners my hair was feeling great. When I added the treatments on top of that my hair felt very silky and wasn't as dried and frizzy. I can imagine what it can do in the long run, cure my hair!
On top of it it's VEGAN, CRUELTY-FREE, just up my alley since I am Vegan myself and to me purchasing a product that doesn't test on animals is a MUST.
P.s. Love the smell too, reminds me of the beach!!

Thank you :)

Hard Water Wellness Treatment

May 05, 2012 by Veronica Zember

I've only used the shampoo, treatment crystals, and conditioner once but I already notice a HUGE difference in my hair. A few months ago I severely damaged my hair using a certain type of bar shampoo and it hasn't been the same since. I've tried so many products and home remedies to repair my long hair, and only Malibu C has been able to restore it to it's former glory. I suspect I won't be using any other product for a very long time. :)

Just Beachy!

First off, this stuff smells great! I love randomly catching scents from my hair throughout the day. I also love how my hair feels lighter and fresh! And its 100% vegan and affordable! You can't beat that! I would definitely recommend this shampoo and conditioner!

Happy hair

Apr 30, 2012 by Hannah Francis

After using the swimmers' shampoo and conditioner for at least a week, and the treatment once, my hair is definitely happy. The continual use has left it feeling silkier and less (chemically) weighed down. Despite the significant amount of conditioner that is needed for noticeable nourishment, it is totally worth it.

SOMEONE SAID THEY ARE CURLTY FREE…HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT WELLNESS IS CRUELTY FREE PRODUCTS? CAN YOU POST A LINK OR SOME TYPE OF PROOF – I CAN’T FIND ANYTHING ON THEIR WEBSITE ADN YOU WOULD THINK THEY’D BE PROUD TO ADVERTISE THAT.
    THANKS

I am a swimmer and water polo player on my high school team. As my hair is continuously bombarded with chlorine (among other chemicals and impurities, for sure), I’ve been looking for effective shampoos and conditioners that will rescue my tainted locks. I would love to share the hair care with the other girls on the team after a game!

  3. avatar Jillian Forgacs says:

I am pretty much out of the current shampoo. =) Either I win this contest and get a great line an exciting way and brag about the product to all the people I know OR just go the store and buy another brand (this is the boring way to acquire shampoo) and feel sad for week that I didn’t get to try out these beautifully packaged (might I add) luxe looking line of hair care products!

  4. avatar Jen Bordman says:

The line I use keeps getting more expensive and I’m done

  5. avatar Katherine says:

I’m newly vegan, and am looking for cruelty-free shampoo that’s good for fine, curly hair!

  6. I am looking for a new hair care solution because I am tired of washing my hair with sulfites and floor stripper and Lord knows WHAT other chemicals. Also, I have very hard water here in New Mexico and ever since moving to the Southwest, my scalp and hair have been dry, dull and itchy! I am in desperate need of products that can combat the hard water blues ;) If the products work, you will have a long-term, loyal customer! Thanks for your consideration.

  7. avatar Lisa Bradley says:

I need shampoo for dry hair.

  8. avatar Veronica says:

I’m looking for a new haircare solution because I have long hair, and many products just damage my hair. :)

  9. avatar Liz says:

I’ve been planning on going “no-poo” when my current shampoos run out. Where I live the air is super-dry and the water is hard as steel. My hair is baby-fine, curly, and tends to be dry. I’ve been hoping that by going no-poo I’d stop washing the oils out of my hair and it would return to its natural state. But if Malibu is actually formulated for hard-water maybe its the answer.

  10. I would love to try this hair care product because my mother is a hairdresser. I grew up trying all kinds of different shampoos and products but only recently in the last few years realized the amount of chemicals and toxins in hair products. I have been on “the hunt” for great natural, vegan, and eco-friendly beauty products for a while and they aren’t easy to come by. And if I do win, I’ll be excited to share this with my mother-as she recently became vegan a few months ago. :)

  11. avatar Dorielle VanDien says:

I accidentally fried a large horizontal section of my hair with dye, and my current products are not up to the task (well, feat really) of keeping the remaining hair attached to my head. I need a quality product which will add strength and moisture, which is a tall order.

  12. I want hair care that is vegan, gives my hair body, and won’t make my color fade.
