About the Tofu Press: The TP1201 is a multi-functional device that can be used as a tofu maker, tofu press or general food press. The TP1201 is constructed from knot-free, select pine high-grade lumber that is assembled using through-groove joints and quality wood screws.

The entire assembly is offered either untreated or treated with a non-toxic food-safe finish that provides a durable wood protection equivalent to varnish. All of the product’s pins and fasteners are stainless steel for water resistance and durability.

The device includes thermoplastic feet to control slipping and reduce water contact while pressing. The handle and plunger assembly can be easily detached from the main assembly for easy storage and cleaning of all surfaces.

The One Green Planet Verdict: We tried out the TP1201 tofu press and found it to be a handy piece of equipment!

This tofu press is a definitely a more efficient and environmentally-friendly way to press water out of tofu than using a towel or paper towels. And getting the moisture out of tofu is a must for those perfect-textured scrambles, sautés, and stir-fries!

The sturdy construction seems like it will hold up well to moisture and repeated use, but only time will tell!

A note for those with smaller kitchens: This piece of equipment does take up a bit of counter space (about the size of a toaster).

Love it!!

Oct 17, 2012 by Stacy

Hello! I won the TP1201 tofu press from your contest. I absolutely love it! I have now made numerous tofu recipes, just so I can use the tofu press!

I did feel that the directions might need some revisions, as I found them confusing in trying to set up the press - maybe more pictures or directions on how to set it up to press store bought tofu. But now that I have used it, I am able to put it together rather quickly.

I love how they sent the recipe and Nigari Flakes to make tofu from scratch, which I am looking forward to try.

It is rather large for storing, but overall very sturdy. A great item to add to everyone's kitchen!
