Flavors Reviewed: Black, Orange Red, Yellow, Wasabi, Salmon, Truffle and Ginger (all vegan)

About Cavi-art: Plant Based Foods Inc. is a new food distribution company that specializes in unique, healthy and exceptional tasting food. One such product is Cavi-art, a vegan, seaweed-based delicacy that looks and tastes like caviar. Cavi-art’s fine consistency and delicious flavor have already made this product a hit in Europe. While not all their flavors are vegan, the Cavi-art line currently consists of five vegan flavors – Black, Orange Red, Yellow, Wasabi, Salmon, Truffle and Ginger. They have few more vegan flavors in the works!

Cavi-art is also environmentally friendly and highly sustainable, with less than 5 percent of the seaweed growth being harvested. And unlike traditional caviar, Cavi-art is available year-round at an attractive price point.

The One Green Planet Verdict: Cavi-art is a unique product that will bring out the luxurious side of any vegan! Each of the varieties we sampled were awesome. With a smooth, delicate texture and mild flavor, Cavi-art is sure to please any palate!

We enjoyed the orange red, ginger, and wasabi flavors on vegan sushi. The  black Cavi-art is incredibly versatile, and was delicious with creamed avocado on toast or as a unique topping for baked potatoes. The yellow flavor works well on a multi-grain cracker or rice cake. All the flavors also made a nice addition to steamed or stir-fried vegetables.

We loved the salmon flavor. It’s light taste took our thoughts to the oceans.  The pearls gently burst in our mouth, making it an exciting treat.  Since this flavor isn’t too potent, it is great to use as the highlight to a simple dish.  We loved topping it on some veggie sushi to add another dimension of flavor and texture.

The truffle flavor is in a league of its own.  It is stronger and could easily overpower a dish if you use too much  – so it’s great when mixed with a creamy pasta sauce.  We enjoyed snacking on it by mixing it with a little bit of veg-mayonnaise and spreading it on some toast.  It definitely adds some decadence to an ordinary piece of toast!

The possibilities are endless with Cavi-art’s collection of online recipes!

I’d like to win a set of Salmon Cavi-art to use as a garnish for one of my favorite snacks: avocado on Ezekiel toast. And also for an extra special touch on some vegan sushi for my friends!

I would love to try the Cavi-art's collection with some vegan cream cheese, some shredded vegetables, and nori, wrapped into a sushi roll! I think it would also be lovely as a beautiful and flavorful garnish for a creamy, earthy vegan soup, such as creamy cauliflower mushroom. They would make lovely additions to the food at the baby shower I am throwing in the late springtime or early summertime for my sister in law! (which are likely to include the items I listed above).
