Enjoy These Fishy Vegan Recipes on World Fisheries Day!

LIKE OGP ON FACEBOOK :

Today is World Fisheries Day, a day to highlight the importance of fish in our lives, environment, and communities. Although this day is dedicated to how fish can be a means of aquatic protein, if caught with sustainable ways, we, at One Green Planet, like to think of this day as a day to honor fish by not eating any! Overfishing and other aquatic problems have caused a severe problem for many communities living near a ocean, lake, or river. Other human activities have also caused other oceanic problems, such as water pollution from chemical run-offs to gillnets that kill nearly half a million seabirds per year! World Fisheries Day is a day to address these issues and to find better alternatives and solutions to these problems fishing communities and many others face. Whether we admit it or not, these oceanic problems that connect the world over, can be fixed. Today is about recalling those and being proactive. Fish is however a big part of diets around the globe, so included below are some faux fish and fish-free recipes to try.

don't think there's anything "honorary" about fisheries. Just saying.

Try this one, chickpeas smashed up, broken up seaweed snacks, carrots, onion, garlic, little bit of oil, salt n pepper! Put it on bread for a "tuna" salad!

"Sustainable fish" is like "humane slaughter" and other fairytales.
