In the middle of a particularly rainy and full of emergencies day, Guardians of the Voiceless were contacted about a pregnant dog who was found lying on the cold and muddy ground, unable to stand up. The kind woman who had found the dog covered her with blankets, held an open umbrella over her and remained with her until the rescuers arrived. “She was standing next to her like a Guardian angel!” the Guardians write.
Rani, the poor dog, was freezing and in shock and she was rushed by the rescuers to the vet. She was immediately put on IV fluids and needed surgery to deliver her puppies, but the operation could not be carried out at once since she was too weak and had to regain her strengths first.
After recovering for some time at a paid foster home, Rani finally had her surgery. Unfortunately, although the vet did everything to save the pups, they did not survive. Rani herself, however, was saved – she was sterilized and is now recovering from the operation. “This precious girl is really calm and gentle,” the Guardians write about Rani, “we hope we can find her a forever home soon!”
