Shelby Hennick’s grandmother was recently hospitalized due to a negative reaction to one of her medications. For three long days, her grandma was away from her dog, Patsy. So when Shelby got a call from her mom about how her grandma was desperate to see her canine best friend, Shelby knew exactly what to do. The veterinary technician understands the healing powers of animals so she stopped by her grandmother’s house and took Patsy for a ride to the hospital.
But there was one problem. The hospital only allows service animals, not pets. That didn’t stop Shelby. She was determined to let her grandma see her beloved dog.
Shelby wrapped Patsy up in a blanket like a baby and held her like an infant.
And it worked! Shelby was able to sneak sweet little Patsy into her grandma’s hospital room.
How sweet is this photo of them snuggling?
Shelby tweeted her covert mission and the tweet has 132,000 retweets from people who fully support the creative way she bent the rules.
And we certainly give two paws up for Shelby’s kind act too. A visit from a furry companion can be a bright spot in someone’s day, especially if they experiencing a sense of loneliness from being separated from their own beloved pets.
