Italian police have released a new video of them rescuing 209 smuggled puppies on a highway near the border area between Italy, Austria and Slovenia.
International Business Times reports that the puppies were smuggled in cages on a truck from Hungary and were discovered by the finance and border police’s operation “Bulldog.”
The puppies were all under 12-weeks-old with some being as young as 4-weeks old.
According to MSNBC, two Italian nationals are being questioned over “violations of national and European Union laws for transporting the puppies in poor conditions with forged documents.” The little balls of fur were all pedigrees of diverse breeds and officials place the value of them at over $300,000.
