Looks like turkeys have yet another friend on their side this Thanksgiving holiday! Actor and comedian Tyler Perry will be forgoing a turkey this year and instead, will be enjoying a yummy plant-based turkey!
The multifaceted star, most widely known for portrayal of self-created character Madea in several blockbuster films, was recently on the Rachael Ray Show where he discussed his Thanksgiving plans with the host. Perry mentioned how his mom is vegan (to which the audience sighed, but Ray smartly quipped “It’s not a disease!”) and he said since he is meat-free, so he will be trying out Tofurky this year, a meat-free turkey alternative.
“But there is something called Tofurky, tofu turkey, that we’re going to try and see if that works out,” Perry tells Ray on the recent show. It seems like Steve Harvey might have had something to do with Perry’s decision to try Tofurky. Perry was recently on Harvey’s show where the talk show host recommended the turkey alternative!
