The current Administration’s adamant denial and opposition of science has intellectuals furious and feeling at odds with our government. The Administration’s attacks on natural environments and wildlife and their blatant disregard for scientific facts are endless, and many appointed officials are highly suspect of having ulterior, i.e. greedy, motives when creating policies.

Andrew Liveris is the president and CEO of Dow Chemical Company, which gave Trump $1 million for his inauguration. Suspiciously, Liveris is now the head of Trump’s “American Business Council.” Dow makes a highly-toxic insecticide called chlorpyrifos, which is directly linked to causing brain damage, especially to children and farm workers, in addition to killing endangered species. Despite the scientific evidence that this chemical is undeniably dangerous for the health and prosperity of America, the EPA, led by Scott Pruitt, decided not to ban chlorpyrifos. To add insult to injury, the Administration also wants to hide the studies that show how three toxic pesticides harm endangered species.

The Sierra Club has written a petition on Care2 speaking out against this disturbing greed-fueled corruption. Please take a moment to sign the petition in opposition of the Administration putting profits before people and our nation’s wildlife.

And PLEASE share this with your network to increase awareness of this incredibly important issue!
