Last week, we shared the inspiring story of Ricky Bobby with you about a paralyzed puppy mill survivor who was rescued by The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) and given a doggie wheelchair so that he could finally move around freely.

Now, it’s time to hear Stella’s story of survival and how she too found happiness.

Stella once lived in the same mass dog-breeding facility in North Carolina as Ricky Bobby, where malnourishment and mistreatment were common and filth covered nearly every inch of the area.

It was initially difficult to determine Stella’s age since her condition was so severe. According to the HSUS, Stella “suffered from a variety of untreated medical conditions, such as abscessed teeth, severe dental disease, a heart murmur, and luxating patellas.”

Thankfully, with medical attention, she was able to recover. And even though she no longer has teeth and has a quirky little lopsided tongue, she doesn’t seem to mind.

In the video below, you’ll hear about some of the conditions that affected the dogs in the North Carolina facility, and get to witness Stella’s inspiring transformation. You’ll also see her amazing bond with her new caretaker, Joy Walker, which is simply beautiful to behold. Even cuter, Stella goes to work with Joy, and Ricky Bobby is there too!

Please always remember to adopt, not buy to ensure that your future pet was not bred in inhumane conditions like Stella, Ricky Bobby, and others. Celebrate your rescued friend and stand up against puppy mills!
